Brielle - Best of the 5-month-old photos

Brielle turned 6 months old today! This last month has been amazing. Like we keep saying, "She just gets more wonderful every month."
She's becoming more fun and independent. Despite her great efforts, she's not yet able to crawl. Here's Daddy trying to help her out:
However, she's become mobile enough, through scooting and rolling, that she's earned herself a walled-in play area. Luckily she seems to enjoy it. The colorful walls have a panel with lights and sounds, and she loves pushing off the walls to propel herself forward:
As an independent girl, she's working hard to do things on her own, including feeding herself. Sometimes her efforts don't quite work as well as she would hope...
And sometimes she gets it! Now that she can lift her head up, she wants to do everything in this new position.
Although she now loves her toys, she continues to prefer close-up interactions with Mommy and Daddy. Her favorite thing to do is put her hands in our mouths or grab onto our faces...
Here's a nice shot of Brielle reading with Daddy...
For the last few months, Brielle has been sleeping with her hands behind her head. Her legs are also bent, so she ends up looking like a super-cute doggie bone. I didn't want to wake her up with flash photography, so I caught an image of her sleeping this way on her baby monitor...
During this past month, Brielle enjoyed several family visits. Grammy Barbara and Kelly came out a couple times...
She also loved spending time with Great Uncle Phil and Great Aunt Karen...
Today the three of us went down to Canby, Oregon for the Dahlia Festival. Brielle enjoyed seeing fields of colorful flowers in all sorts of shapes and sizes...
I love this photo. If you enlarge it, you can see a reflection of Mommy and Daddy in her eyes, while she looks at the flowers...
