Happy 2nd Birthday, Brielle!

Brielle turned 2 years old last Monday! Her birthday celebrations actually started early with a visit from Grandma Pat last month. For the current celebration, Brielle enjoyed a visit from Grammy Barbara.
Brielle showed Grammy the new storage shelves for her toys. Note that the paintings on the wall were created by Brielle, and they match the room perfectly!
Grammy brought Brielle some new outfits. Although Brielle tends to like taking her clothes off, she was excited to pile on her new outfits on top of her current clothing to show them off.
The birthday celebration had a "Caillou" theme, in honor of her favorite cartoon friend.
That's Caillou hanging from the banner.
We decorated the library while Brielle was taking a nap. When she woke up and came downstairs, she was a little shocked to see the decorations and gifts and hear us singing, "Happy Birthday" to her.
It was time to open gifts!
Brielle received a lot of fun gifts and nice cards.
She received several hats, which made her very happy (although you can't tell from her face in this photo). She liked the fire fighter hat in particular.
She's been playing with all her new gifts, but she was also really fascinated with the balloons and liked kicking them around the room. We warned her that they'll "pop", so in response she chased after us, trying to hit us with the balloons, and calling out, "Pop! Pop!".
Mommy made vegan chocolate and vanilla swirl cupcakes.
Brielle focused on licking off the chocolate frosting.
Nice chocolate goatee, Brielle!
Brielle enjoyed some juice in a Caillou cup.
Whoops! Wrong picture!
"Cheers!"
After the celebration, Brielle played again with Grammy.
She loves getting her back rubbed. When it's time for her to sleep, she'll take our hands and put them on her back so we can massage her to sleep.
We still have birthday celebrations with Papa Duane, Nana Karen, and Granddad Scott to look forward to.
Happy Birthday, Sweetie!
