Two weeks ago we flew to Kansas to celebrate Papa Duane's 65th birthday! The kids were amazing on the plane rides. Brielle was mature, and Ronan pretty much slept in Mommy's arms the entire time. Such a relief.
We had never been to visit Papa and Nana in Kansas in the fall, so this is the first time we got to appreciate the beauty of the colorful trees.
A big highlight of the trip for Brielle was getting to play with cousin Stella.
They've enjoyed Skyping with each other, but it's much better to play in person. They made up games to play on top of the pool table...
...and they danced...
...and they played outside in the backyard. Brielle didn't want her photo taken, but beautiful little Stella posed for some photos.
The girls received early Christmas gifts, including clothes, boots, and fun Nemo pillows.
Next, we enjoyed a dinner out with "the boys", Nana's grandkids. Brielle loved playing with them, and all the cousins enjoyed checking out their new baby cousin.
Ronan loves kids, so he certainly didn't mind being the focus of their attention.
The big event of the trip was a birthday bash organized by Nana Karen, and attended by many friends and family members.
There was plenty of good food and a huge cake with 65 candles to blow out. This photo was taken right before the fire alarm went off...seriously...that happened.

Next, we headed out to a pumpkin patch.
It was different from the ones we've visited in Portland. Along with the traditional orange Halloween-type pumpkins, there was a variety of other ones with colors including white, blue, and green.
At the end of the visit, it was sad, of course, for Brielle and Stella to say "good bye".
We had a really nice visit. The parties were fun, and it was great to spend time with Papa Duane, Nana Karen, Aunt Amy, Uncle Todd, and Cousin Stella.
Ronan enjoyed a lot of loving arms holding him and provided everyone with frequent smiles.
