The festivities began with the arrival of Papa Duane and Nana Karen.
Ronan hadn't seen Papa and Nana since he was 3 months old. He stayed close to Mommy and Daddy at first, but warmed up pretty quickly.
They surprised Brielle with a delayed birthday celebration.

The weather in July has been amazing with a lot of sunshine (and heat). We played in the yard, and Papa made bubbles for the kids.
Ronan laughed and pointed at Brielle as she chased the bubbles and popped them.
Ronan started taking steps during the month before his birthday, but it wasn't until a few days before his birthday that he started choosing to stand up on his own and walk. By his birthday, he was walking around independently for up to 10 feet at a time. (And now, a week later, he walks everywhere and almost never crawls anymore.)

The next day was Ronan's birthday! Can you guess the party theme?

I made some classic arcade game wine charms, inspired by Pacman, Ms. Pacman, Tron, Frogger, Galaga, Asteroids, and Pong.
The party was attended by our family, Grammy, Kelly, Papa, Nana, Kraig's Uncle Phil and Aunt Karen, and Kraig's cousins Eric and Danielle.
Ronan received a lot of amazing gifts. Brielle helped him open presents and showed him how to play with them.
Ronan thanked her by giving a gift to her (the sequel to the "A Turtle's Tale" movie she loves)

They were really gifts to both of them.
Cheers to Ronan!
Then it was time for Ronan's first (Pacman) cupcake...
Thank you to everyone for the generous gifts and to the family members who joined us on this special day. We had a great time!
The next day we headed out to wine country.
We stopped at Lange to get a tasting and hear a talk about its history.
"Ronan...nooo!" ("Papa...nooo!")
Thanks, everyone, for a wonderful birthday weekend!
