Our sweet little guy is 5 years old! Today, on his actual birthday, we had a pretty laid-back day. He opened gifts from our family, including the Lightening McQueen car in the photo. Due to being busy preparing for our move in four days, Ronan's birthday celebrations will be stretched out over a month.

The plate in the photo is Ronan's "Florida plate". He painted it recently at a ceramics studio Brielle and I like to go to. We weren't sure if he would be interested in painting anything, but he really got into making this plate and is very proud of it. He wants to eat all of his meals on it. It's so cute.

Baking up a bit...Ronan's first birthday celebration was at Amiguitos.
The end of the school year also included a fun field trip. Ronan posed with his best friends, Martin and Mateo
.

Ronan also graduated from preschool and is ready for kindergarten! We attended the celebration.

We gave Ronan a very early birthday party so that his friends would be more likely to be in town and because we weren't sure of the exact date we'd be moving in July. He chose Pump It Up, which is a great party place. Everyone had a great time. The theme was "Paw Patrol", which is a cartoon kids like. I didn't have time to go "all out" with preparations like I try to do for the kids' birthdays, but we had some themed cupcake toppers, plates, and gift bags...it went well.
We've had to focus so much on packing and cleaning and re-cleaning the house for showings, so we've mostly been doing activities at home. Also, Ronan, then I, then Brielle had pneumonia, so we haven't been able to go out much. I was sick on Fourth of July, but we did get outside to the driveway to play with sparklers and fireworks.
There haven't been too many ways that the kids could help with the move. We asked them which toys they were willing to part with, but of course the answer was "none". However, they did help us paint the "red wall" to match the rest of the house.

My next blog entry will be from Florida!!!
