Grandma Pat flew out to Portland to help Brielle celebrate her first birthday. She stayed in town for a few days longer to have some wonderful bonding time with Brielle. We had a great visit to the Japanese Garden on a nice spring day.
We tried out a new backpack carrier for Brielle. She did well with hanging out on Mommy's back.
But of course, being Brielle, she was also interested in getting out and exploring on her own. We let her walk around for a while. She's becoming very independent and insists on having a chance to get out of her carrier and explore on her own. However, she also enjoyed being held by Grandma Pat.
