Last weekend, Brielle enjoyed a fun visit with Granddad Scott!

The first day, we went to the zoo and saw all sorts of fun animals.

Brielle loves bears, so it was fun for her to see this bear climbing up over 100 feet high in a tree. The adults worried a little about the bear until we learned it was called a "Climbing Bear".

She said, "Shhh" to let us know that the polar bear was taking a nap.

Brielle enjoyed the fake animals too, especially ones that she could climb on.

This is an actual sign at the zoo..."Don't throw away your fuh fuh?"...

We finally got lucky with the weather. The zoo day was pleasant with some sunshine, and the next day in wine country was absolutely gorgeous and warm.

We had a great time tasting fine wines, sitting in the sun, and enjoying the views.

Brielle was in a good mood and did really well on the trip.

Just a couple times, she wanted a little more attention from Mommy.

Brielle enjoyed exploring the winery grounds...

...and took a photo with Mommy's camera. Kind of artsy!

But her favorite part of the trip was meeting a friendly dog on the patio at one of the wineries.

We know it's only a matter of time before she starts asking us for a dog. We're glad that for now she can get excited about them then say "bye bye".

I apparently didn't take many photos of Granddad, but he was there having a great time with us.

Back at home, Granddad joined us for a couple different celebrations. First, we had one final birthday celebration for Brielle, with gifts from Granddad, Sujata, and "Aunty" Monica and "Cousin" Mia in Florida.

Brielle got a book about puppies and kitties. "Ooooh", she says.

She had a lot of sweet hugs for her new little kitty cat.

Granddad gave her a hip hop instruction DVD for kids, as recommended by Mommy. I thought she'd be likely to dance when she saw other kids dancing, and I was right. Since receiving it, Brielle periodically asks for "more dance" so we'll play the DVD.

She tried out some moves with her new kitty and puppy dog.

Monica and Mia sent Brielle a couple cute outfits, including Mia's favorite jacket from when she was younger. (I love this photo!)
Sunday morning was Easter and Brielle's first Easter egg hunt! She had another egg hunt at school during the week, but at the time she didn't quite get the concept and mostly watched the other kids. When she found an egg, she thought it was a ball and threw it. But she watched the other kids, and by the time we had our own egg hunt she was completely aware of how it worked.
She immediately started gathering the eggs, opening each one as she found it.
Some of the eggs contained snacks, which she promptly ate.

It looks like she might be sharing one of the snacks with Granddad in this photo.

Other eggs contained stickers of her current favorite objects, including horses and modes of transportation.

Her favorite sticker was of a stop sign...or as she calls it, the "Stop it! Sign".

Later she played with the eggs. Like she does with many of her new toys, she introduced them to the slide.

Our lucky little girl also received Easter gifts from Grammy Barbara, Grandmas Pat and Sue, and Mommy & Daddy. She enjoyed receiving books, clothes, and art supplies.

Whenever Brielle paints, she eventually takes the brush and applies paint to her hands to make hand prints. So we figured we might as well get her some finger paints.

But it ended up on more than just her fingers!
Easter was also a great time to Skype with family, including Papa Duane and Nana Karen...
...and Sujata.
We had a wonderful Easter and visit with Granddad Scott.
