Fun in Florida with Grammy and Kelly!

Grammy and Kelly just visited us for 10 days! This was Kelly's first visit to our new house, so we had a lot of experiences we wanted to share with him for the first time. The first stop was one of Ronan's favorite activities - miniature golf!

Kraig always wins, and Ronan most often comes in last, but he's such a great sport. We had a blast.
We also had plenty of time to relax at home, often sitting out in the lanai or in the hot tub. The kids were excited to do whatever Kelly was doing, even if he was just watching a video about how to fix a household item.

The February weather was surprisingly fantastic. The kids enjoyed eating pizza at our outdoor tiki bar.

"Cheers!"

While the kids were at school, the grownups did some local exploring. We hit the distillery for a tour and lunch.

And, of course, we visited the fort.

And there were many visits to the beach.

Grammy and Brielle really wanted to play with the boogie board in the ocean, but the presence of several jellyfish convinced them to leave the water early. A few days ago we found a manowar washed up on the beach. At least we collected some nice shells.
On Thursday we headed out to the beach after school to watch a rocket launch from a distance. Watching the Falcoln Heavy last month was even more dramatic, including feeling the roar of the blast-off on a delay. Before moving here, we had no idea we could actually see launches from so far away.
Ronan took this photo as we left. Nice job!

An exciting outing involved exploring a new beach area near Fort Matanzas at the bottom of Anastasia Island. We found out we could walk out onto the intracoastal side and walk around the bottom tip of the island, under a bridge where the ocean meets the intracoastal.

The orange coquina sand next to the blue water was gorgeous.

We also showed them the unique, rocky beach at Marineland.

We took a couple trips to our pier to show it to Kelly and so Grammy could look at the variety of local birds.

Thank you for a wonderful visit, Grammy and Kelly! We can't wait to see you again.
