With the recent rise in coronavirus numbers here, he wasn't able to have a traditional birthday party with friends. But he really enjoyed opening presents from loved ones at our house.
He was amused that Uncle Kevin and his family referred to Ronan as "little man" on their card to him.
Hey...I recognize that tuxedo cat!
Speaking of Ginny, she always loves participating in gift opening...sometimes even attacking and eating some of the gift wrap.
We also received calls and Skypes from family members, wishing Ronan a "happy birthday".
Ronan also had time to connect with friends online before eating pizza with a movie for dinner. He received some great gifts and seemed to really enjoy the day.
We did actually get to have one celebration with family a few days before his birthday. We met Granddad and Sujata at Granddad's neighborhood clubhouse for a socially distanced Mr. Han's lunch. Not only was Mr. Han's open for take-out, but they had added an orange tofu dish that the kids loved.

We had been struggling to figure out a time to do another outside visit with them, given the 100 degree days and afternoon thunderstorms that are frequent this time of year. But Granddad had the fantastic idea of reserving his clubhouse so we could be comfortable inside with the AC while having plenty of room to keep our distance.
It was a great opportunity for Ronan to open early gifts from Granddad and Sujata. And, of course, a great opportunity to see them!
Afterwards the kids enjoyed swimming in the community pool. Ronan had air bubbles in his shirt that created large arm muscles.
