Going to Bandon is the kids' favorite vacation. But this time it was particularly special because we were joined by Cousin Stella and her parents, Amy and Todd.
It was Father's Day weekend, so the kids showed their love to their Daddies and to Grandpa Taylor.

We enjoyed the best of both worlds (worlds about a mile apart), going back and forth between the beach house and Grammy and Kelly's house. As soon as we arrived, Ronan announced what he wanted to do - have Kelly push him on the swing with Caillou playing in the background. The 2-year-old's version of the perfect vacation.
The kids also enjoyed swimming in the hot tub, and we all took boat rides out onto the river (no photos, since I was on a boat). As usual, we lucked out on the weather, and the adults had some time to relax on the sunny deck while the kids ran around.

Stella prooved herself to be quite the bubble master...
The huge bubbles wobbled through the air, wiggling around like a huge jellyfish in the air. They traveled over the house and down the street, causing some neighborhood dogs to bark in excitement.
We returned to the beach house to see another rainbow.
As we enjoyed the ocean view, the kids had fun running around and dancing on the deck.

Grammy visited everyone at the beach house. She and Kelly also watched
the kids so the adults could go out to the casino and play some golf.
Thank you!
And of course we fit in a beautiful day at the beach! It was just a little windy, and with the sun it was pretty pleasant.

It's too cold to swim in the ocean, but the girls still found a way to play in the water.
The beach was covered with little sand dunes - a huge sandbox for Ronan.

And there were mermaids on the beach!

Ronan wanted to pose too.
On our last day there, we went to a local zoo we like to visit.
Before we entered, we were offered food to feed the animals in the petting zoo. The place is actually a combination of a regular zoo and petting zoo. There are animals in enclosures, including lions, tigers, bears, monkeys, etc., but there are also tons of deer, goats, and even peacocks walking around free everywhere. And they were waiting for us...as soon as we went through the gate, we were mobbed by friendly animals.

Poor Ronan was a little overwhelmed. He hid behind his sister while Daddy held the food cups up high to hand them to me so the animals would back off.

As soon as there was breathing room, the kids were brave and enjoyed petting the baby animals.
They had a few wild baby animals to pet.
At zoos I tend to like the monkeys the best. But here, I just love that the peacocks walk and fly around wherever they want, yelping really loudly to each other.
We all had a wonderful time together. Thanks Cousin Stella, Uncle Todd, Aunt Amy, Grammy, Kelly, and Grandpa Taylor!
We had one more chance to see Stella and her family when they headed back through Portland on their way to the airport. We went to the "roller coaster park"!
