During spring break in Bandon, Ronan was waking up with a dry diaper. It was time to start discussing nighttime potty training! Since the kids seem to like it, we decided to have a "family meeting" to discuss how to help him with this process. It always involves drawing pictures on a large piece of paper. This time Brielle was in charge of all the drawing.
We're consistently impressed with what a wonderful, supportive big sister Brielle is. So we wanted to share the work she did. At one point we were gently suggesting that Ronan could go to the bathroom on his own early in the morning, rather than yelling to wake up Mommy and Daddy. Brielle made a drawing to express this to Ronan (see "No" and "Yes" at the bottom of the page).
Ronan kind of listened, and kind of goofed off. But...it's been a few days now in nighttime undies, and he's been dry every morning! We think that he was ready on his own to be trained at night, so maybe the family meeting wasn't even necessary. Unfortunately he's still yelling for us in the early morning when he has to use the potty, but hopefully that will pass. The drawing is now hanging on Ronan's bedroom door, so tonight Brielle pointed out the drawing to him to remind him not to wake us up. Hopefully we'll all be sleeping through the night soon. But for now, we're really proud of both of them.
