Spring Break in Bandon

Look out - Lots of photos here. But Bandon is so wonderful, and the kids are so happy there, so I just can't help myself...

After Grandma Pat's visit and Brielle's birthday party, we spent the rest of our spring break at Grammy and Kelly's house in Bandon.

This was the second time we left Ginny alone at home. This time we had a professional cat sitter come over each day to take care of her. Kraig also set up a camera so that we could see Ginny over the internet any time we wanted. She spent most of her time in a different room, but we did get to see the cat sitter playing with her on two days. And there were a couple of times when she came right up to the camera so we could see her up close. This helped us feel connected to her.

And, of course, we had another furry friend to play with - Emmett!
As usual, we were really lucky with the Bandon weather. Our first two days there were beautiful and sunny, and we enjoyed relaxing and playing on the deck by the lake.

By the way, Ronan has become quite the funny entertainer. He has hilarious expressions and has a great sense of humor. We're sometimes laughing out loud at his antics.

Brielle got yet another birthday celebration, with more yummy vegan cupcakes from Grammy.

We can't believe that Brielle is 7. She has really become mature in so many ways. She is more focused in taekwondo, she follows our requests more often, she's very responsible about being "healthy and strong", and she's very supportive of Ronan, giving him lots of positive reinforcement when he's learning something new.

One day we drove over to the Bandon lighthouse. We always see if from downtown Bandon, but we actually haven't visited it in a long time.

The beaches here are so different from the ones in Florida. Besides the large rocks in the water in Bandon, there is also a lot of driftwood, which is pretty interesting.

We also made our usual trip out to the beach.

We're not sure why the waves were wild, since the weather was so mild. But we got to witness a good show of large waves crashing and splashing against the rocks.

Sitting in the sun on the deck is one of our absolute favorite things to do. For the adults, this sometimes includes a glass of wine.

The kids have fun in the hot tub.

We also got to visit with Grandpa and Linda! We met at our favorite Chinese restaurant...well, the only Chinese restaurant in Bandon, but we do love it. They brought Easter gifts for the kids.

Back at the house, the kids played with their favorite toys and enjoyed a treasure hunt challenge set up by Grammy.

Grammy's birthday was going to happen the day after we left, so we gave her an early celebration. Brielle used her art talents to create a great birthday card for her.

Our last day in Bandon was Easter! Even though we were away from home, the Easter bunny still managed to find us.

As always, the kids loved going on walks with Emmett.

Thank you so much for another wonderful visit, Grammy and Kelly!
